Regulations of the Requirements to teach a Seminar Online and in Person at the same time.

Updated over a week ago

Up till now teaching Online and in Person Practitioner seminars were restricted to having a Co-Teacher, another instructor that had the same requirements as you, so that one Teacher can take care of the online students and the other Teacher can take care of the In Person students. This regulation was to ensure that the Students have the needed support.

To make this teaching option more accessible the Board of Directors has changed the regulation with certain restrictions in place. You do need to know:

  • A setup like this requires technical skills, you need technical understanding how to pull this off so that the quality and support in the classroom and online is provided in the highest and best way.

  • Do not try to do this if you have not had any experience because it is more complex than you may think. Equipment is moody, so try your equipment before, so you are certain everything works.

  • People expect a professional seminar, so make certain if you decide to combine an in-person and online experience that you are indeed ready and trained in it.

Instructors Requirements:

  • Teaching Experience:

    • The Instructor has to be a Certified Online Instructor

    • The Instructor has to have teaching experience with Online and In Person Seminars.

    • The Instructor has to be familiar with Zoom, computers and even technical equipment.

In Person Location:

  • The In Person Location has to have a good and stable internet connection.

  • The Instructor needs an in Person Teachers Assistant. Someone who has taken at least Basic, Advanced, Dig Deeper and the seminar being taught.

    • The TA has to be able to help and assist in the Classroom while the Teacher is checking the Breakout rooms on the online steam.

  • Technical knowledge:

    • Setting the In Person Location takes a technical effort. The Instructor has to know how to handle the technical support or has to have a Technical Person present so that the quality of the seminar is not reduced due to bad sound, video or other complications.

      • The Teacher has to use a state of the Art Headset Microphone. For example SHURE headset.

      • The sound has to go into the Zoom Stream so a good to amazing sound quality arrives for the Online Students.

      • The Camera of the Teacher has to be a high performing Webcam, for example a Logitech PTZ Pro.

      • In the Main room has to be a TV Screen where the Instructor can see all the Online Attendees.

  • Again, A setup like this is complex, you need technical understanding how to pull this off and you need experience. Do not try to do this if you have not had any experience because it is more complex than you may think. Equipment is moody, so try your equipment before, so you are certain everything works. People expect a professional seminar, so make certain if you decide to combine an in-person and online experience that you are indeed ready and trained in it.

  • If the Instructor teaches Online and the Teachings are streamed into Remote Locations where they are not Present then the Guidelines “Teaching in Person Practitioner Seminars from a Main Location into a Remote Classrooms” apply.

Limits:

  • Be aware that all your Students will want the attention of the Instructor and they do deserve it. Take only as many students in person and online as you feel comfortable teaching.

    • The maximum students by seminar still apply and this regulation has to be followed. Increasing the amount of students ONLINE is only possible with a Co-Teacher

    • Use more assistants if you can. Add Assistants online and in Person to help you support your students. You still have to check the breakout rooms yourself, but with assistants you have someone having your back.

Possible equipment list, describing the minimum of Equipment at each location:

In Person Location:

  • Logitech PTZ PRO 2 USB or something similar

  • USB Extension Cord (from camera position to streaming Laptop)

  • 2-3 Laptops

  • 1-2 Tablets

  • Sound System for Teacher Audio (can be the sound system of the Venue)

  • Optional: Mixing Table

  • Microphone for Teacher and Translator (Shure microphones are what THInK uses)

  • Audio Interface

  • Cables to connect the Sound system with the Audio Interface and the Audio interface with the Streaming Computer

  • TV Screen to display the remote locations

  • HDMI Cable from TV to Laptop

These requirements are for our ThetaHealing Instructors to be able to teach ThetaHealing Practitioner Hybrid seminars (In-Person and Online). There are different Requirements for In-Person and Remote Locations and there are different regulations for seminars taught by ThetaHealing Headquarters and Vianna Stibal.
